History

On December 5, 1999, Pastor Spann obeyed God’s call to Pastor and started Perfecting Prayer and Praise Ministries (PPPM). Knowing the importance of covenant, Pastor Spann connect with Life Ministries, Inc. under the guidance and leadership of Bishop R. Alonzo Jones. God gave instruction to Pastor Spann to begin this new ministry on a foundation of Prayer. Our foundational scripture is Ephesians 4:11-12: And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelist; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. For the first month, the charter members (Pastor Spann along with his wife (Co-Pastor Grace Spann) and their three children) prayed as instructed by God. As God began to grow the church, Pastor Spann began searching for a larger place of worship for his congregation. The first church location was in the corner of Co-Pastor Grace’s beauty salon located at 9 Central Avenue, Glen Burnie, Maryland. As a man of prayer with ambition and great faith, he moved the church from the corner of the salon to the Hampton Inn Hotel; from the Hampton Inn to a building on Aquahart Road; from Aquahart Road to the Freetown Community Center; from to the Freetown Community Center to 150 Blades Lane; from 150 Blades Lane to our current location at 7610 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd, in Glen Burnie, Maryland. In May of 2008, God instructed Pastor Spann to reconnect with his church heritage in the Church of God In Christ.

Again, being obedient to the Lord, he connected with the Greater Maryland First Jurisdiction, Church of God In Christ under Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop Joel H. Lyles, Jr. and returned to the Bishop Frank J. Ellis Memorial District under Superintendent Tony W. Torain, Sr. PPPM is a “R” rated ministry and the “R” stands for Real – Real Praise, Real Worship, Real Word and Real Relationship.

Our motto is – We Care About What God cares about and God cares about You! 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you”.

In 2012, God gave Pastor Spann instructions to rebrand the ministry as 3PM Church COGIC. As 3PM Church continues to fulfill its purpose in the earth, may the Love of God be our beacon light and ray of hope for Glen Burnie and the surrounding areas.
